The University of Luxembourg, Department of Law, will host the second summer school organized within the European Project STARS – “Skills transfers in Academia: a Renewed Strategy Enhancing Legal Clinics in the European Union”, from Monday, July 8th to Friday July 12th, 2019.

The project STARS, founded under the Erasmus+ programme, brings together the University of Luxembourg (coordinator) and Università degli Studi di Brescia, Università degli Studi Roma Tre, Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, and the Romanian-American University in Bucharest. It aims to renew teaching strategies within law schools by developing clinical legal education in Europe and stimulate innovative practices in legal teaching; formalize existing clinical legal education through the development of digital tools and the establishment of evaluation criteria; and promote the development of innovative legal research.

During the first summer school the Luxembourg Law Clinic will offer a structured replica of its traditional clinical activities, holding special clinical sessions and reproducing the methods and the pedagogical approaches applied in the Luxembourg law clinic, in order to share its experience with the participants. The sessions will be run in English and the substantial focus will be on Consumer Law.

The summer school addresses students and clinicians.

Maximum 15 foreign students will be admitted to the summer school and they will receive partial grants to cover their stay in Luxembourg. Students will receive 4 ECTS for their participation and they will be awarded a certificate of attendance.

Further information about the summer school, including a detailed program, schedule of sessions, costs, registration forms and admission criteria will be available within the next month.

The University of Luxembourg will be very glad if the ELFA colleagues or their students can join the event.
