Lecture by Dr. Nikola Petrović:...

The Chair of General History of Law and State of the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, invite you to the Jean Monnet Visiting Lecture Series:

Ideology, historical grievances and positions on European integration.

The lecture will deal with the development of pro-European and Eurosceptic attitudes throughout the history of European integration. It is argued that various ideological transformations played a major role in the development of pro-European actors and groups. On the other hand, historical grievances and related visions of history by Eurosceptic groups from both radical right and radical left still influence current EU affairs.

Nikola Petrović is a research associate at the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb. His research interests are European studies, ideology and economic sociology. He is a principal investigator of the project dealing with the dynamics of Europeanism and Euroscepticism funded by the Croatian Science Foundation.
