Marijana Majdak was born in 1970. in Zagreb, Republic of Croatia. She graduated on Faculty of Law University of Zagreb, Department of Social Work in 1995. She achieved her Masters degree in 2004. on the Faculty of Philosophy University of Zagreb, and in 2009. PhD on the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, Department of Social Work and achieved academicals degree doctor of science in scientific area of social sciences. Her PhD was on theme „Stigmatization and picture of self of juvenile delinquents“. In 2011. She was elected as Assistant professor in the area of social sciences. Since 2000. she participated in several scientific and research projects financed by Ministry of science, education and sport under leadership of prof. emeritus Vlado Puljiz, „Social policy and social work in Croatia“ (2002.-2004.) and prof. dr. sc. Marina Ajduković, „Action and evaluation researches in social work” (2004.-2006.) and ''Children, youth, families and social development in Croatia'' (2006.–2012.), also on several smaller scientific projects financed by University of Zagreb.
Since 1996. till today she finished several additional educations: Basics of child and adolescent psychiatry, Emotional abuse and neglect, Applied Social Studies, Relational competence , Gender Issues in Social Work, Active learning and critical thinking in university teaching, Mediation, Group supervision in psychosocial work.
She holds courses Youth in conflict with the law, Social work with perpetrators of criminal acts, Methods of supervision and Field work in social work with youth with social unacceptable behavior. She participates in courses Social work with youth with social unacceptable behavior and Interpersonal communication.
Her scientific and professional area of interest is social work with children and youth with socially unacceptable behavior, children and youth in conflict with the law and perpetrators of criminal acts.
