Cognitive Skills:
After successfully completing the course, students will be able to:
1. define and recognise individual forms of abuse and neglect of children in the family
2. identify and categorise risk factors and protection factors for individual forms of abuse and neglect of children iin the family
3. recognise and explain th effects of parental abuse and neglect on the child
4. explain and distinguish between theoretical models of abuse and neglect of the children
5. explain and apply priniciples of good practice and establishment of relation with the child who experienced inappropriate parental care and his or her parents
6. illustrate/draft interventions on the levels of universal, targetted and indicated prevention of individual forms of abuse and neglect of the children in the family.
Practical and Generic Skills:
After successfully completing the course, students will gain:

Matching Assessments to Learning Outcomes:
Written examination
Testing learning outcomes 1-6-
Written examination consists of 9 questions, out of which 8 questions are focused on factual knowledge, and one question is focused on a new problem situation which enables assessment of understanding and application of knowledge. Each question carries 1 point, and it is possible to gain 0, 1/2 or 1 point.
Oral examination
Testing learning outcomes 2-6.
Oral examination consists of 3 questions which assess knowledge and connection of course materials.
Theoretical knowledge and its application on a) a case of suspicion of abuse and/or neglect of children in the family and b) a programme of primary or secondary prevention of violence against children in the family will be tested.
Integration of new cognitions acquired within the course with the knowledge and skills gained in other courses will be encouraged.
