Branka Sladović Franz was born in 1971, graduated social work in 1994 at Faculty of Law University of Zagreb. Master degree was obtained at Medical Faculty University of Zagreb, in the area of Social Psychiatry. Disertation“Psychosocial development of abused children placed in children's homes“ was completed in 2002 In educational sciences. She was a guest lecturer from january to march 1997 at WoodbrookeCollegeu, Birmingham, U.K., in international training “Working with conflicts“. Since 1995. She is employed at Department of Social Work at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, first as a research assistant and as a full professor since 2013.She is teaching courses on Interpersonal communication, Conflict resolution, Child welfare. At postgraduate studies she teaches courses on In-care children, Mediation and social work, Family Mediation, Divorce mediation and Children in mediation.She is the head of postgraduate studies on Family mediation. She used to be a mentor for over 50 graduate and postgraduate finals and took part in many professional and scientific conferences, 18 international. She published alone or in cooperation more than 40 papers in journals and chapters in books and three books: monography„Psychosocial development of children in children's homes“, „Interpersonal communication for social workers“ and „Individual planning for children in foster family“. She participated in many scientific researchers. She is practising as supervizor of psychosocial work and family mediation and delivering education to social work professionals on child welfare and family conflicts and mediation. She is the president of Croatian association for family mediation, member of Croatian association of social workers, Society for psychological assistance, Association of youth judges, family judges and professionals for children and youth and member of editorial board of Social Work Yearly.
