After successfully completing the course, students will be able to:
- define the concept of information society and explain its development
- explain the origin, development and role of information technology (IT) in modern society
- explain the notion and development of information science and its areas of application
- explain the concept, development, characteristics and types of computer networks
- explain the concept, role and influence of the Internet on modern business processes
- describe standard Internet services
- describe the origin, development and forms of electronic commerce
- discuss prerequisites and limitations of electronic commerce
- discuss e-government and e-administration
- explain the most important issues from the area of advanced technology and personal rights, with a special emphasis on protection of personal data
- discuss information and communication privacy
- discuss security risks and manners of protection against them
- name the most important Internet services of e-government available in the Republic of Croatia
Application
After successfully completing the course, students will be able to:
- apply acquired knowledge in forming policies in the area of information society
- apply acquired knowledge in discussions about information security of public administration services
- apply in practice legal regulation analysed within the course
- use internet services of electronic government, especially online registers and databases
Analysis
After successfully completing the course, students will be able to:
- categorise different types of attacks on IT system and security mechasnisms for their prevention
- distinguish between various criminal offences from the area of computer crime
- connect international legal sources from the area of privacy and elctronic communication with relevant sources of national law
- solve problem tasks related to using electronic resources (databases, registers)
After successfully mastering the course, students will be able to:
- publicly present learning outcomes;
- participate in a discussion in an argumented manner;
