Description:
This course is meant to help students in understanding core concepts of Internet governance and its regulation. It is also meant to be complementary to other courses taught at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb.

Cognitive Skills:

By the end of the course, students should be able to:
-understand basic concepts of regulation in the digital environment through its technological, economic, social and legal perspective
- understand the history of the Internet and use relevant Internet-related technical terminology
- identify and explain roles of various stakeholders and institutions in the internet governance
- have good working knowledge of the ICANN’s powers and its structure and organization
- understand legal framework of internet domain name space
- have a thorough knowledge of the private law regulation of internet domain names and various mechanisms of dispute resolution, on global, regional and national level
- apply their knowledge of dispute resolution mechanisms in legal practice
- have knowledge necessary to take part in the future developments of internet governance issues on national and regional levels
