Robert Podolnjak was born on June 3 1958. On the University of Zagreb Law School employed from January 1, 2006. Currently, he teaches constitutional law as Full Professor. He is full member of the Croatian Academy of Legal Sciences, the Croatian Association for Constitutional Law, and the Croatian Political Science Association. He published three monographs: “Federalism and Republicanism: The Creation of the American Constitution” (2004), “Direct Election of Mayors and County Governors: European Experiences and Croatian Challenge” (2005), “Mayor and Council: The New Institutional Framework of Croatian Local Government in Comparative Perspective” (2010) and more than 70 articles in scientific journals and other publications.
He was a member of the Committee for the Constitution, Rules of Procedure and Political System of the Croatian Parliament from the ranks of scholars in the years 2008 – 2011, and the member of the working group of the Croatian Government for making the draft of the Amendments to the Constitution in 2009-2010. He was a member of the Croatian Parliament from 2015 to 2020.
